St. Mary's Lab 4

Overall at St. Mary's there have been many challenges that the students have had to learn to deal with. But if we just learn some helpful hints we can prevent those challenges from becoming a bigger problem. Overall this week at St. Mary's was what showed me the true nature of the challenges that you will face out in the real world. Their was this one kid who I kept trying to get focused on the activity but he was too interested in my watch. I really enjoyed making the collage to present to St.Mary's this week of lab because it showed off all the Cortland students abilities to associate and get along with the students of St.Mary's. All in all although lab 4 showed me true challenges that I will one day face as a Phys. Ed. Teacher it also made me think of how to work through those challenges to make it a positive learning environment.

St. Mary's Lab 3

Lab 3 at St.Mary's was a huge success. My activity based on the western theme of the lab went very well and the kids seemed to love playing it. I learned that it is good to be enthusiastic about your games/activities because then the kids will want to know what the game/activity is. I also learned from lab 3 that different kids have different type movement patterns and some are maybe not as noticeable as others. But I did realize with this lab that the kids can execute the movement patterns some it just takes longer to process the information and remember what they need to do in the movement pattern.

Chapter 1 presentation

In Chapter one I got the most out of it from the abilties section of the chapter. This section really shows the different areas the child has to develop throughout childhood and adult life

Lab 2

Overall, I thought this lab was very effective. In this lab I observed various students movement patterns and completed a small rubric about it. I overall thought the lab went very well as the students for the most part seemed very interested in the activities presented to them.

St. Mary's

My first experience with using an activity was a quite enjoyable one because students in both pre-k classes seemed to enjoy the activity I had brought for them to play. The activity showed me alot about the students in just the first week. I hope with time to learn more.

Chapter 1 reflection

In Chapter it begins by talking briefly about the national standards you need to know as a physical education teacher. As you go on in the physical education program these national standards will become a lot more important to learn and remember. It also talks about preparing activities appropriate for each individual or group you will be working with. Finally, the most important aspect of Chapter is the mentioning of the three important domains for physical education. These three important domains are motor(psychomotor), cognitive, and affective domains. Overall, this chapter shows aspects that you will need to know on a brief basis for this class but that you will learn a lot more about and have to remember as you progress with your physical education classes.

Learning Effectively

My reaction to blogging is mixed at this moment because I don't know what to think about it. Over the break I learned that it is important to use not only your ideas for instruction but to listen to the ideas that the students themselves may have
